Crafting with…Courtney! Episode 42: “Stats Incredible!”

Hello everyone, and welcome to the forty second episode of “Crafting with…Courtney!” I’m here to make crafting fun, easy, and good for you!

One of the key items every person in Stormreach needs is something to boost their main statistics. If you are the burly fighter-type, it’ll be Strength and Constitution, if you’re one of those “I read books and cast spells”-types, it’s probably Intelligence or Charisma. Stats are important! Besides making you look better, live longer, and feel stronger, they give you an important boost when it comes time to head out for adventure! That’s why today’s column is all about stats!

Before Cannith Crafting, people would sometimes fill up their banks with all sorts of stat items, to make sure they would be ready for when they were high enough level to use them. Some folks still do that, but Cannith Crafting makes it easy to have what you need, when you need it!

Here’s a breakdown of stats:

Bonus   Min. Level   Bound Crafting Level   Unbound Crafting Level

+1                   1                         13                                         25

+2                   3                         25                                         50

+3                   5                         38                                         75

+4                   7                         50                                       100

+5                   9                         **                                       ***

+6                  11                       100                                      150

**71 for Dex, 72 for Cha, 73 for Int, 74 for Wis, 75 for Str and Con

***121 for Dex, 122 for Cha, 123 for Int, 124 for Wis, 125 for Str and Con

It should be noted that all stat shards come from the Arcane school of Cannith Crafting. These shards will have a Potential that’s the same as the type of bonus you are adding to it, so a +1 Strength Shard will have a Potential of 1, a +2 shard has a Potential of 2, etc.

One of the things that you’ll want to keep in mind is where you should put all of these stat items! For the most part, you’ll be keeping these items equipped, so it’s best to place them in an item slot that you won’t be swapping something into or out of frequently. Here’s a handy breakdown of what can go where, and a list below the picture as well:

Strength (Str): Ring, Bracers, Gloves, Belt
Dexterity (Dex): Ring, Gloves, Boots
Constitution (Con): Ring, Necklace, Belt
Intelligence (Int): Ring, Helmet/Hat, Goggles
Wisdom (Wis): Ring, Helmet/Hat, Necklace
Charisma (Cha): Ring, Helmet/Hat, Cloak

So, how high a bonus should you have? As high as you can get it! However, it’s important to note that you only get a boost to the things a stat helps (hit points for Constitution, for example) on an even number, so your bonus will go up at 12, 14, 16, 18, etc. If you have a 12 Constitution, a +1 Con item won’t help you, since it’d just give you a 13 Constitution, and your next bonus boost is at 14 Con. So, if you start with an odd “base” stat, craft +1, +3, or +5 items, and if you start with an even “base” stat, craft +2, +4, or +6!
